Duong-Van Nguyen, Dr.-Ing.

Duong-Van Nguyen received Diploma degree in Telecommunication (2008) in Program for Excellence(PFIEV) at HCM university of technology,  and Ph.D in Robotics (2013) from University of Siegen, Germany. From 2013 to 2015, he worked as Research Engineer at Valeo, Ireland. From  June to August 2015, he worked as R&D Manager at Hyundai Mobis and partially worked as adjunct professor for Goethe University. 

Dr. Nguyen has joined Panasonic Automotive Systems Europe (PASEU) since Sept.2015, where he is now the Head of ADAS and the representative of PASEU at EU commission. He is a member of IEEE Robotics/ITS, and a member of IEEE standard working group P2020.
He is aslo a member of Technical Program Committee for 13 conferences, a member of advisory boards, a conference/workshop organizer, an invited speaker, and a reviewer for a number of journals and conferences.

Dr. Nguyen has been a pioneer and leading scientist in the field of ADAS and Autonomous Driving where he and his research group at Panasonic demonstrated the world-first level 4-autonomous parking at ITS World Congress 2021. Also, he introduced the state-of-the art of level-2 and level-3 autonomous parking system in CES 2020, CES 2021, and CES 2022. In 2019, he demonstrated the world first semi-dense 3D reconstruction for Surrounding View System at Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA). Remarkably in 2014, he and his research group at Valeo introduced the world-first automated parking system, so called Park4You, which has been used in majority of cars (Mercedez, JLR-land rover, BMW, VW, etc.) in the market nowadays.  

Dr. Nguyen together with his Panasonic team was awarded two Research and Innovation Grants CARAMEL (2019) and CPSoSAware (2020) 
by the European Research Council.  Since 2016, Dr. Nguyen has been actively serving as visiting professor/supervisor for Ph.D & MSc. programs/students at Athena research center ISI, University of Siegen, and TU Darmstadt. 

Dr. Nguyen has published 1 book, 1 book chapter, 7 journals, 22 conference papers, and 9 patents.
